28. 答案M (suggest)

Passage One

46. 答案A (Britons have cut their spending on it)

47. 答案 B  (It will remain gloomy)

48. 答案C  (Luxurious features add much to the price)

49. 答案A  (They are particular about the quality of toilet paper)

解析: 根据定位词Britons和顺序定位原则定位到倒数第二段,原文they remain fussy (插入语不看)when it comes to paper quality, A选项是对原文的同义改写,正确。

50. 答案D(Environmental protection is not much of a concern when Britons buy toilet paper)

解析:根据提示段落last paragraph定位到最后一段,原文highlighting how overall the environment is much less of a consideration for shoppers than product quality与D选项意思一致,都说明环境问题不是英国人在购买卫生纸时最关心的问题。

Passage Two

51. 答案B(She succeeded in quitting smoking abruptly)

解析: 根据定位词Lindson-Hawley和her mother定位到第一二两段,根据我们上课讲到的答案提示词found that进一步精准定位到第二段,原文her mom quit the right way—by stopping abruptly and completely,B选项显然是对原文的同义改写(succeeded—right)和原词复现(abruptly)。

52. 答案D  (They were offered nicotine replacement)

解析: 根据定位词support和Lindson-Hawley’s study定位到第三段,D选项和原文in a addition to a second form of nicotine replacements意思一致,正确。

53. 答案C  (It is encouraging)

54. 答案B  (needs some practice first)

55. 答案A  (They find it even more difficult)

Part four Translation

The Zhujiang River, the biggest river system in the South China, running across the city of Guangzhou, is the third longest river in China after the Yangtze River and The Yellow River. The Zhujiang River Delta is one of the most prosperous regions in China, covering around 11,000 square kilometers, and also the largest urban accumulation area in the world in terms of both population and area (size). There are 57 million people living in the nine largest cities of the delta. Since the reform and opening up policy was put into effect in late1970s, Zhujiang Delta has become one of the major financial hubs and manufacturing centers in both China and the world.

在前半句“上世纪70年代末中国改革开放以来”,此句中的改革开放也可以理解转译为改革开放的政策实施以来,因此前半句可使用状语从句进行表达从句时态采用一般过去式即可,与此同时应注意句中的主被动关系,译为“Since the reform and opening up policy was put into effect in late1970s”,后半句中“珠江三角洲已经成为中国和世界主要经济区域的制造中心之一”,句中谓语动词“成为”应选取现在完成时予以表达,译为“Zhujiang Delta has become one of the major financial hubs and manufacturing centers in both China and the world”
